Providing Navajo families with water, wood, insulation, stove, and essentials
Unfortunately this is not an uncommon sight in the homes of Navajo families across the reservation. Elders who have kept their wood stoves for many decades are beginning to fall apart from over usage, drywall and insulation entirely missing because of leaks in the roof. Little to no firewood periodically throughout the winter months makes a hard season to bear for those who find themselves in this situation, especially if they are lacking in all of the above. Add on to that the lack of running water and plumbing and now you have a snapshot of what many homes experience in the rural parts of the reservation.
The W.I.S.E outreach. Which stands for water, wood, insulation, stove, and essentials is our way of helping the rural communities on the Navajo Reservation. these outreaches are funded entirely by the art sales of Three Feather Studios.
Our team at Three Feather Studios are extremely grateful for any help offered. Whether it be joining us during the out outreach weekends, offering supplies, giving financially, or even sharing the outreach on social media.
We believe change starts with individuals first, then families, then communities. With this conviction we have used our own resources for many years through art sales. We’ve now begun to see other families step up and offer their help by showing up and lending a hand. Excitement is in the air because whole communities are joining in on this grassroots movement! We live here on this reservation, and a we are the ones who will make the good difference.
If you wish to partner and contribute to this outreach, there are two ways you can do so. First is to purchase an art print which funding goes towards the W.I.S.E outreach. Secondly you can donate directly through the link below. Thank you very much and may Creator bless you!
Saturday, June 6 is our upcoming outreach day, We will be focusing on water delivery. One pallet of water from Costco is about $480 dollars. Our goal is to get 5 pallets which should help 2 dozen families from two communities.
